Although we were not the first coin dealer on the web, we have spent over a decade building an extensive web empire. Our websites are not just online shopping sites, they are packed with information, opinion, and advice, and other quality content including some of the best coin photographs around (Everybody else steals them). Naturally, we also buy and sell coins.
We think we have the best numismatic site on the internet, but we are not content with that, and are aware that there are many advances and improvements we can make.

Person Specification
We expect our employees to have the ability to prioritise and manage a diverse workload with minimum supervision, whilst working under pressure in a high volume, high quality service culture.
The right person will be motivated, enthusiastic, patient, flexible and adaptable and will enjoy working in a friendly and supportive working environment. Reliability is paramount, as is discretion.

Development
Self development and further education are encouraged and rewarded.
Out of our twelve full time team members, seven are educated to degree level and the other three are currently working towards NVQ 2 and 3 qualifications.
Our Office Manager started working for us as an administrator nearly six years ago and was promoted within two years.
Our Jewellery Manager has been employed by Chard since 1991 and started off as an Office Junior.
The rest of our team have been working here for between 1 - 6 years and we hope to have them with us for many more.

Criteria
Qualifications

• 5 GCSE's grades A - C, including English and Maths
• Degree or Equivalent
• Relevant I.T. Qualifications

• Knowledge of php, javascript and mysql
• Maintaining and creating web applications
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to manage, organise and prioritise workloads

• to redesign and revise all our systems where necessary, to fully integrate sales, purchasing, stock, accounts, web based sales and marketing;
• maintaining and creating web applications;
• planning timescales and the resources needed;
• developing agreed solutions and implementing new systems;
• project managing the design and implementation of preferred solutions;
• being involved in sales and support and, where appropriate, maintaining contact with clients;
• defining software, hardware and network requirements;
• purchasing systems where appropriate;
• designing, testing, installing and monitoring new systems;
• replacing parts as required;
• monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks;
• troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults;
• finding solutions to problems, be it through creating a desktop shortcut or fixing a major fault on the operating system;
• providing support and training, including procedural, documentation;
• running network applications to support systems and users;
• supporting new applications;
• setting up new users;
