Intense Fancy Yellow Solitaire Marquise 1.13 ct Diamond

Fancy Coloured Diamonds
If you have never seen coloured diamonds before, it may surprise you to know they exist in almost every colour of the rainbow, in addition to plain old vanilla flavoured white, and boring black. Natural fancy coloured diamonds are very rare and even more expensive. We deal in natural fancy colours, and also enhanced colours such as the diamond in this particular ring.

Fancy Intense Yellow Diamonds
Intensely coloured fancy yellow diamonds, sometimes called canary coloured, are strartling for the intensity of their colour. Natural ones are very expensive, typically about ten times the price of white or colourless ones. Enhanced yellow diamonds are real natural diamonds which have had their natural colour enhanced or changed by man, often emulating natural processes which which would have occurred in nature to natural fancies.

Marquise Diamonds
Marquise diamonds, also called navette or boat shaped, are technically a modified brilliant cut. If you read the advice and information on our page about cut and shape of diamonds, you will see that we believe that brilliant cuts have the most sparkle, but not everybody wants a round diamond. It is also important with fancy shapes that the cut and proportion are good.

Ring Style This ring is in a simple classic style. Diamonds with points such as marquise are usually best in a "V" claw at the points, as our mount. There are two extra claws at the middle of the diamond to ensure a firm and secure setting.
We chose to make this mount in all yellow gold instead of using a white gold collet.

Technical Notes
In line with our overall philosophy, we use the highest quality components possible in our rings. The setting or collet in this ring is stamped from a single sheet of 18 carat white gold, in preference to using a cheaper, lower quality casting. After stamping, it is then further cold-worked to form it into shape. More expensive rings in multiple High Street retail jewellers do not usually include such high quality components because the retailers and their suppliers want to maximise their profits.
