Moroccan Coins of the Sharifs
We recently acquired a large quantity of Moroccan coins, including those shown on this page from the pre French Protectorate days.
The 1 Rial coins (10 Dirhams) are a crown or dollar sized coin, and will appeal to collectors of world silver crowns. The smaller 1 Dirham coins should be relatively common in lower grades, although many will now have been melted. In higher grades they are not easy to find, are are catalogued at quite strong prices. In the "hoard" which we bought, there are a large quantity of these particular coins, so we are able to offer them at a very reasonable price, and can also offer them in quantity for those collectors who may wish to buy some as an investment or for swaps. 1313 is the first date of its type, and at 430,000 has a lower mintage figure, and a higher catalogue value than the other dates for this type.
