Aequitas, Equity or Fair Dealing
Equity signifies the fairness and virtue shown by the emperor in administering justice and the affairs of the public. She was known to the Greeks as Dikaiosyne.
She is usually shown holding the scales of justice and a cornucopiae, occasionally a sceptre or hasta pura.
On coins of Gallienus the inscription "AEQUITAS AUG" stands for "AEQUITAS AUGUSTI", alluding to the fairness of and justice provided by the emperor to the people.
