Jan (Johannes) & Caspar (Caspaaren) Luiken (Luyken)
Very little seems to be published in English about Jan Luiken. We were grateful to find the following on Wikipedia:

Jan Luyken (1649-1712) was a Dutch poet, illustrator and engraver.
At twenty-sixth, he had a religious experience that inspired him to write moralistic poetry.
He illustrated the 1685 edition of the Martyrs Mirror with 104 copper etchings. Thirty of these plates survive and are part of the Mirror of the Martyrs exhibit.
We know that, in 1694, he also published a book of engravings, Het Menselyk Bedryf ("The Book of Trades").
It is from this book that the medallions shown on this page were taken.
It is also known that each engraving was accompanied by a short verse, presumably describing the particular trade. As our knowledge of Dutch, especially seventeenth century Dutch, is exremely limited, we will refrin from attempting to give any translation, although we have translated the title of each trade.

90. LUYKEN (Jan and Caspar) Het Menselyk Bedryf. Vertoond, in. 100. Verbeeldingen: van: Ambachten, konsten, hanteeringen en bedryven, met versen. Johannes & Caspaares Luiken, Amsterdam. 1694.
First Edition, 4to, engraved title (neatly rehinged) and 100 numbered engraved plates of trades, a little marginal spotting, modern vellum gilt, a nice copy. £4750
Contains a collection of engravings from Dutch artist Jan Luyken, and illustrates trades from the late 17th century. Each picture has a moralistic verse with it. Engraving is a printing process in which the lines to be printed are cut into a metal (usually copper) plate. The pictures of which some like the Copperplate printer, the Baker and the Apothecary have world-wide fame, are of exceptional quality.

Partial List of Medallions & Engravings
We do not know how many engravings appeared in the book, or how many of these were issued as medallions. We have simply listed those we have seen.

We Buy Medals & Medallions
We make an active market in medals and medallions, whether individually, or in complete sets and collections. Buying and selling prices vary with the market price of silver (or gold where appropriate).
The secondary (secondhand) market prices for silver medallions is usually quite competitively priced, and for connoisseurs of medallic or numismatic art, previously owned medallion sets often represent a bargain especially compared with the original new prices.
Please contact us if you have medals or medallions for sale.
