In 2006, the Royal Canadian Mint introduced a palladium maple leaf bullion coin containing one troy ounce of palladium, as an addition to its range of gold and silver maple leaves.
The Palladium Maple leaf Coin is the first palladium product introduced by the Royal Canadian Mint.
Palladium is one of the six platinum group metals and can be distinguished by its superior conductivity and ductility, resistance to oxidation and corrosion as well for its strength and durability.
They are packaged in thermal sheets (ten per sheet-20 sheets per box) for a total of 200 coins per box.

Value Added Tax is payable on palladium coins in the UK and most states within the EU, as it is for silver, platinum, and base metal coins. The only exemption from this is for Investment Gold coins, which are exempt from VAT tin the EU.
