Since 1970, The Royal Mint has produced special edition coin sets for collectors, which are also ideal as gifts.
This year there are four variations of coin sets, of which we will be stocking one, the 2015 UK Annual Brilliant Uncirculated Thirteen Coin Set.
We received our first delivery 2015 Brilliant Uncirculated Sets on 20th January, 2015.
Contains the eight circulating coins, from the Two Pounds down to the Penny, plus the commemorative £5, £2's and 50 pence.
Although not struck to the same standards as the proof coins, these coins are
also specially examined and selected before packaging. They are all superior to
the mass produced coins which are made for circulation because of the absence
of bag marks and scratches.
They are also packaged in a colourful attractive and informative folder.

If you look carefully at the Brilliant Uncirculated 50 pence coin, you'll notice that there's no denomination on it. Nowhere on the coin does it state what the value of the coin is, either in numbers or in words. We believe this may be an error on the mints behalf, as we can see no reason to leave it off the design. The Royal Mint have confirmed that the coins made for circulation will feature the face value on the obverse. To find out whether a coin without a face value is still a coin, read our blog here.
Contains the five commemorative coins for this year.
All superbly packaged in a newly designed plastic case, and housed within
an attractive box, this set replaces the standard and deluxe set.
We will not be stocking this set as we do not believe it represents value for money. The sets have a face value of £14.50, yet The Royal Mint are selling them for £65.
