Peter Rabbit has appeared on coins before, and seems to be very popular.
In 2003 Gibraltar issued a huge 1 kilo silver proof 32 crowns coin with a Peter Rabbit theme. Now, we tend to be a little wary of "gimmicky" coins, but we do bow to popular opinion and demand, especially if the price is right! Apparently, almost the entire issue limit of 1,000 pieces went to Japan, where it seems that things British are very popular, and Beatrix Potter, being very British, is especially popular. We have never seen these particular coins offered for sale anywhere previously. If you had been able to buy them in the UK, the issue price would have been at least £425 each, we are informed. We have them available at what must therefore be a bargain price.

Description
The reverse of the coin features a portrait of Peter Rabbit, in a bright blue waistcoat, delicately coloured fur in brown shades, with red slippers, holding a carrot which is surprisingly more red and yellow than orange, with luxuriant leaves in two-tone green. This is undoubtedly modelled from an original Beatrix Potter illustration, and is therefore not surprisingly, absolutely charming. Several of our staff thought this coin would make a brilliant Christening gift.
The coin is packaged in a plastic capsule inside an attractive blue box.
