Our Finnish Euro sets are now in stock.
As at 16th January, we had Finnish Euro coin sets in stock. We have managed to obtain a supply of the elusive 1¢ and 2¢ coins. These are in stock. so we are able to supply complete sets from stock. These are our own "unofficial" sets which are currently of mixed dates.

A Finnish Problem
There is currently a problem with the Finnish sets, the Finnish mint, in its wisdom, has decided unilaterally that the 1 and 2 cent coins are too low a value, and has decided not to issue any for circulation, although they were issued in their starter packs, and presumably will be issued in their official sets. We have since heard that the European Union have ordered Finland to produce and release supplies of these coins. So far, all this information is unofficial, but we are attempting to get a clarification from the Finnish mint.
As mentioned above, we have now managed to find a source for the two smallest copper coins, which are now in stock.

Finland Starts Using The Euro on January 1st 2002
On new year's day 2002, Finland, like the other 11 members of the Eurozone, started using Euro notes and Euro coins for cash transactions. Within a few months, the old coins and banknotes in Markaas have been withdrawn. We have uncirculated sets of Euro coins from each of the twelve member countries in stock, and are accepting orders now.
Finland chose three designs based upon motifs similar to those used on national coins.

What, No Cents?
We have been told that Finland will not be issuing 1 and 2 cent coins for circulation, but we are able to supply all 8 coins in our own "unofficial" sets. The official sets will contain all eight coins also.

Packaging & Presentation
We have uncirculated mint sets of coins from all 12 Euro zone countries in stock. Our Finnish Euro sets are packaged in an attractive card within a 2-sided plastic case so that the coins can be viewed from both sides or removed if required. We have information about official issue mint or proof sets. All of the countries will issue uncirculated sets, but many will not issue proof sets.

2 Euro This shows cloudberries and cloudberry flowers, designed by Raimo Heino.
1 Euro The artist Pertti Maekinen created a motif depicting two flying swans for this coin. The designs were taken from his competition entry for a coin to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the independence of Finland.
50 Euro Cents These show a heraldic lion which is a reproduction of a design by the sculptor Heikki Häiväoja. The heraldic lion in different designs has been used in several Finnish coins over the years, for example on the 1 markka coins between 1964 and 2001.
20 Euro Cents As for the 50 Cents. Note the 7 indents or scallops on the edge.
10 Euro Cents The obverse designs of the Finnish 50, 20, 10, 5, 2, and 1 Euro cents are identical apart from their size and the indents on the 20 cent.
5 Euro Cents The obverse designs of the Finnish 50, 20, 10, 5, 2, and 1 Euro cents are identical apart from their size and the indents on the 20 cent.
2 Euro Cents The obverse designs of the Finnish 50, 20, 10, 5, 2, and 1 Euro cents are identical apart from their size and the indents on the 20 cent.
1 Euro Cent The obverse designs of the Finnish 50, 20, 10, 5, 2, and 1 Euro cents are identical apart from their size and the indents on the 20 cent.
