Austrian, Irish, Italian, German, Greek, Luxembourg and Portuguese 2002 sets are now in stock for immediate delivery.
We have mixed date type sets of Finland, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Spain; we are working on a supply of all 2002 dated coins, and other dates for these countries.
We cannot yet give a delivery date on the same-date sets for the Finland, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Spain, as these are not easy for us to obtain. Even the end of 2002 may be optimistic. Please see the TBA* note below.

The Eurozone Starts Using The Euro on January 1st 2002
On new year's day 2002, all 12 members of the Eurozone, started using Euro notes and Euro coins for cash transactions. Within a few months, the old coins and banknotes in national currencies will be withdrawn. We will have uncirculated sets of Euro coins from each of the twelve member countries available in January 2002, and are accepting advance orders now. Our photographs illustrate the two Euro coins from each country in addition to the common EU reverse side.

Countries & Designs
Each country is free to use their own designs on the obverse of each coin, providing it meets certain criteria. Different countries have obviously taken different views about this. Most countries have produced three different designs, one each for the bi-coloured, silver coloured, and copper coloured coins. Some countries have produced better or more imaginative designs than others. Austria Greece and Italy have done a great job, and produced eight different designs, one for each coin value. Finland, France, Germany, Portugal and Spain have each used three different designs; of these we like the French best, and Finland have produced different designs for the two higher valued coins, but the six remaining coins all share the same design. Luxembourg also produced three different designs, but these are all similar except for the placement of the word "Lëtzebuerg". The Netherlands has only used two designs, while Belgium and Ireland rather disappointingly have used just one design for all eight coins. Whether this is to avoid confusing the natives, we do not know!

Three Different Types of Set
The sets listed for sale below are our own "unofficial" sets.
In addition, all the states have announced the issue of official sets, either uncirculated, proof or both. We still have not received final details from all countries yet, but will keep updating this page as we receive further news.
For the three minor principalities of Monaco, San Marino, and Vatican City, we have not yet been able to arrange for a supply of coins to make up our own sets, but we can offer the official sets for each of these three states.

Eight Coins Per Set
All national Euro sets contain all 8 coin denominations unless otherwise stated.

Packaging & Presentation
We expect to have uncirculated mint sets of coins from all 12 Euro zone countries in stock during January 2002. These will be packaged in our own presentation packaging for collectors as shown. The card insert fits into a 2-part plastic case so that the coins can be viewed from both sides. It is easy to remove the insert from the outer case, if you should prefer to remove the coins. We also have information about official issue mint or proof sets. All the countries will issue these uncirculated sets, but only a few will issue proof sets.

* Finland
We can confirm that our Finnish sets do contain the 1¢ and 2¢ coins. These have not been issued for circulation, and have been changing hands for £10 per pair and probably more. This makes our sets quite a bargain!

TBA*
Items above marked TBA*. It is possible that some countries might not issue for circulation all denominations for all dates, including 2002. In this case it may not be possible for us to obtain complete date sets. For this reason, we would advise ordering the "type sets" with mixed dates, for these five countries. We cannot therefore predict the date, if any, when all 12 sets will be available dated 2002, or any of the 5 affected countries.

Other Minor States
Monaco, Vatican and San Marino are issuing official Euro coin sets in 2002, please see each countries page for details. We hope to be able to offer our own unofficial sets from these states eventually, but are still trying to ascertain whether we will be able to get sufficient supplies of new loose coins, if any. Please watch this page for further details.

Other Dates
Some states are issuing official sets dates dated before 2002, and we will be offering these as soon as they are available. We have secured an allocation of official Netherlands Euro mints sets for 1999, 2000, and 2001. We are expecting to receive deliveries of these in mid to late December 2001.
Belgium, Finland, France and Spain have all announced mint sets dated 1999, 2000 and 2001, although unfortunately the French sets have already sold out. Please see the individual countries pages for details of availability and price of each.

Official Sets	We now have information about many of the official mint and proof sets, although we are still waiting for further information from some countries. We have details of official and unofficial sets on the page for each country, and will be updating each page as we receive further news. Most of the official sets are considerably more expensive than our unofficial sets. Additionally the official packaging varies between states.
"Unofficial" Sets	The coins are all official original issues from the countries themselves, it is only our packaging which is unofficial. We do not make our own Euro coins for obvious reasons, mainly it would be a criminal offence known as forgery, and to quote from the European Union website:- "The maximum sentence for infringements concerning the making or alteration of currency may not be less than eight years."
Other Dates	Some countries will release sets dated 1999, 2000 and 2001. We give details about each of these on the page for each individual country.
Bank Notes	We do not normally deal in banknotes, but as we have been asked many times, we have added a Euro Banknotes page.
