2001 Victorian Era Crowns
The 2001 crown presentation folder pays fitting tribute to one of the more dramatic periods in history - the Victorian era.
An anniversary crown needs special attention, thats why the British Royal Mint has produced a splendid presentation folder to house the magnificent Victorian Crown.
The Victorian age, ending with Queen Victoria's death at the dawn of the twentieth century, was one of industrial and social transformation.
By the end of the nineteenth century people were enjoying the benefits of railways, telephones, electric lighting and motor cars, things that everyone, today, takes for granted.
This anniversary crown, with its beautiful reverse design showing Mary Milner Dickens' representation of the Young Head of Queen Victoria and Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of our present Queen, takes pride of place in this year's crown presentation folder.
Just as Mary Milner Dickens was influenced by the Crystal Palace for her reverse design, the presentation folder, too, features a beautiful illustration of this spectacular glass building.

Available Now
We had all three versions in stock by early 2001, and were offering them for sale at or below the officially published Royal Mint issue price. Subsequent prices change in response to market forces.
We also have the specimen version in a PNC package, Postal Numismatic Cover, at a saving compared with the issue price of £15.95.

Special Versions
Included in the table below are two special versions. These are "reverse frosted" proof versions in gold and silver, giving a matt appearance. These were only sold as part of "collections" which obliged the original buyer to purchase 2 or 4 sovereigns which they may or may not have wanted, at inflated prices. An unfair practice in our opinion. Any real coin collectors who had the good sense and patience to avoid buying these direct from the Royal Mint will be rewarded by being able to buy them from us in the secondary market at lower prices.
We may be able to offer you a choice of the individual coin or the complete "Victorian Centenary Collection".

We will even pay the postage within the UK.
Overseas residents, please ask for details of postage & packing.
