Tenth Anniversary of the End of the Berlin Wall
Somalia issued for 1999 a 25 shillings coin celebrating the tenth anniversary of the end of the Berlin Wall. On the reverse of this crown sized coin is a scene showing crowds of people pouring through the wall and embracing long parted relatives, while on top of a broken portion of the wall, a man is shown demolishing the wall with a pick-axe.
The reverse inscription reads:-
FREEDOM UNITY HOPE FREIHEIT EINHEIT OFFNUNG
BERLIN
LIBERTE UNITE ESPERANCE NOVEMBER 1989

Obverse
The obverse of this coin shows the coat of arms of Somalia. Strangely the coin is undated except for the date 1989 shown on the reverse.
