Obverse
The obverse shows the date of the Mayflower's landing, 1620 and the date the medallion was produced, 1970.
Underneath the dates are two female figures who are perhaps Liberty and Britannia and look to be holding a wreath, but this could possibly be a life-ring!
There is then the inscription:
HAVING UNDERTAKEN
FOR THE GLORY
OF GOD AND THE
ADVANCEMENT OF THE
CHRISTIAN FAITH AND
THE HONOUR OF OUR
KING AND COUNTRY
A VOYAGE TO PLANT
THE FIRST COLONY
IN THE NORTHERN
PARTS OF VIRGINIA
MAYFLOWER COMPACT
1620
Reverse
The reverse shows the Pilgrims looking towards the West, whether they are onbaord or still in Plymouth looking towards their destination we do not know.
